Largest commercial law firms in Germany

Mergers and acquisitions give law firms a thriving company in this country. These are the list of the ten best law firms in Germany.

#10 Luther

In tenth place, Luther is one of two newcomers in the ranking. The law firm was founded in 1992 and is located in Cologne. Juventus estimates Luther’s annual turnover at 145.3 million euros. This was almost 27 years more than the next.

#9 Hoyking Kuehn Luer Wojtek

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek is the second German representative in the top ten. The German law firm operating on the international market was founded in 1971 in Düsseldorf. She is in this country, and eight people are in Brussels and Zurich. According to Juve, the annual sales of some 400 lawyers, tax consultants, and notaries amounted to 149.5 million euros (up 12.1 percent).

#8 Clifford Chance

Clifford Chance is one of the largest commercial law firms in the world. A contractual partnership existed in London in 1987 through the merger of each law firm: Feigling Chance (1802 interests) and Clifford Turner (1900 events). The company has 26 country agreements. According to Juve, your turnover in Germany is 173 million euros (minus 1.5 years).

#7 Glaess Lutz

Gleiss Lutz is a full-service German law firm. It has over 300 members, including 87 partners, one each in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, and Brussels. According to Juve, sales for the 2017/18 personal season are € 195 million (plus eight percent).

#6 Hogan Lovells

Another law firm with Hogan Lovells entered the top 10 in Germany. The commercial law firm employs approximately 2,500 lawyers and employs over 40 people worldwide. Hogan Lovells has four branches in Germany: Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Düsseldorf, and Munich. Juventus estimates an annual turnover of 195.9 million euros. This equates to plus eight finances.

#5 Knurr

The fifth place is taken by the German law firm Noerr. They reported the record in 2017. For the first time, a law firm in Germany managed over 200 million euros. “The growth factors associated with withholding taxes were monitored,” the statement said. Precise annual turnover according to Juve: € 203.4 million (plus 7.1 percent).

#4 Linklaters

With an annual turnover of € 207.1 million (plus 7.7%), Linklaters is ranked fourth in Juve’s ranking. Linklaters was founded in London in 1838. In 2001, the company merged with the German law firm Oppenhoff & Rädler to form Linklaters Germany. This London-based law firm has 30 offices under 20 government contracts. There are about 300 trial rights for Linklaters in Germany.

#3 Hengeler Müller

1990 saw the merger of the traditional Düsseldorf law firm Hengeler Kurth Wirtz and the law firm Müller Weitzel Weisner from Frankfurt am Main. It is located in Berlin, Brussels, London, Munich, and Shanghai. Not only companies are their clients. In 2010, Hengeler Müller advised the Federal Ministry of Finance on the euro rescue package. According to Juve, sales in 2017/18 were € 241 million (up 3.9 percent). This shows that the top of the ranking is clearly different from the competition. There is still no gap from second place.

#2 CMS Hasche Sigle

The German law firm was also ranked second in the ranking of law firms. According to Juve, CMS Hasche Sigle is well ahead of third place with annual sales of 316.2 million euros. Thus, the Berlin-based law firm was able to achieve an increase of 7.2 percent over the comparison. They have about 1200 employees and 14 rights in Germany and abroad, in Tehran.

#1 Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer

All German commercial law firms had no chance against this competitor from London. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer was created in 2000 through the merger of the law firms Freshfields (Great Britain), Deringer Tessin Herrmann & Sedemund (Germany), and Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Löber (Germany / Austria). Freshfields was founded in 1743 and is considered to be the oldest international law firm in the world. In Germany, according to the company, more than 500 lawyers advise clients in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, and Munich. According to Juve, sales amounted to 405.2 million euros. That was almost twice as much as the balance sheet of the fifth-placed.
