According to the trade registry ordinance, art. 4, every business in Aruba, whether a sole proprietorship, a legal entity, or a branch of a foreign legal entity, is required to register at the Aruba Chamber of Commerce within one week after their commercial activities have begun (NL). 

The process required

Depending on the legal form selected, the method to be followed in order to open a tourism business in Aruba may change:

Business permit

Before beginning their operations, businesses must get a business license in accordance with the Ordinance on the Establishment of Businesses. The only exception to the need for a business license is a sole proprietorship or general partnership made up of adults who were born in Aruba and have Dutch nationality. In any other circumstance, a business license is necessary. After hearing from the Aruba Chamber, the Department of Economic Affairs issues the company license. The Chamber will take into account its Business Establishment Ordinance Guidelines, which were created to assist the Chamber in this matter. In accordance with the Guidelines, the Chamber will advise the Minister positively or negatively regarding the issuance of a business license to a corporation in which at least 60% of the shares are owned by locals, or by someone who has the same status as a local, or to a legal entity that has been incorporated under Aruban law and whose shareholders are all locals.
